Natural Newborn Photographer Atlanta Georgia

I have had quite a few newborn baby boys to photograph lately.  It always seems like I will have lots of boys then lots of girl babies to photograph.  Interesting how that works, right?   Well, I love both boy and girl newborns and have lots of gorgeous soft organic wraps, swaddles, and hats for both.  I love to stick with a classic soft color palette for newborn sessions.  I never want to overwhelm the baby with excessively large props.  Also, capturing interaction is so important. You will never regret having newborn pictures and seeing how tiny they once were in your arms.  If you are looking for a newborn photographer and live in the Atlanta area, don’t hesitate to contact me.  I would love to hear from you.  I am located just of I -85 in the Suwanee Georgia area.

Atlanta Newborn Photographer | Tiny Newborn baby with Family in Georgia

Suwanee Georgia Newborn Photographer

This tiny little boy is so precious.  He was accompanied by his big sister and parents!  I just love capturing interaction between family members.  Showing the love they have in their hearts for their brand new baby.  This newborn baby boy was bright eyed and  bushy tailed at first, but I worked my magic on him and he was asleep in no time:)  But, he was such a happy baby while he was awake and we captured some beautiful bright eyed photos.  He looked right at me!  I just adore these type of newborn photos as well as the sleepy ones.

Atlanta Newborn Photographer |Top Ten Baby Items

Top Ten Must Have Baby Items:

From the moment you find out you are expecting a baby, the list of things to buy seems endless.  And, not to mention overwhelming!  So after having 4 newborns myself, I have put together the top 10 baby items that I find I can’t live without!

I am definitely a minimal momma!  I don’t need quantity, but I do need quality!  So I will pay more for a really great item than have to purchase several low quality items.  I find I end up spending less in the long run:)

top ten baby items

Top Ten Must Have Baby Items:

    1. Britax B-Agile Stroller and Carseat: This is my favorite stroller I have ever owned. And, I have owned a peg perego, baby trend double, and several others.  This one is so light weight.  It folds up with one hand.  It also is a great jogging stroller!  It spins on a dime.  What more can you ask for?!  You do need to purchase the drink holder and baby cup tray separately and they are really nice to have!
    2. Puj Tub:    This baby tub is amazing! I mean seriously amazing! I have never had anything easier or more comfortable for newborn babies!  It fits in almost any sink.
    3. Ergo Carrier:  This is hands down the best carrier for baby and mom!  I used this all thru Disney World for an entire week when my 4th was 7 weeks old!  I tuck the little legs in so there is no stress on the baby’s hips.  I also use the newborn insert for the tiny little ones.  Super easy to nurse in as well and you never have to take it off!!
    4. Medela Double Breast Pump:    A double breast pump is a totally necessity if you are planning to breast feed!  I tried a manual to save money with my first and oh my that was awful!  This is so much better.  I highly recommend it:)
    5. Pumping Bra:  This may not seem like something that would be helpful, but this is the best invention!  It is great when you need to pump and have your hands free at the same time.  I used this almost every time I pump.  It is great to be able to get a few things done while you are pumping.
    6. Swaddle Blankets:   These swaddles are so light weight and big enough to swaddle baby.  They are also the perfect material to get the swaddle tight!  I loved these and they come in girl, boy, and neutral colors!
    7. Baby Hats:  These baby hats are adorable and you will definitely want to keep your newborn baby’s head warm for the first few weeks after he or she is born.  And these are super cute and soft.
    8.  Bow Subscription:  This company has the cutest bows if you are having a girl!  They also give you your first months bows FREE if you tag them on instagram.  Here is the info:  FREE BOWS for new mamas and mamas to be! Did you know we give an entire month of bows to moms that are expecting a little girl?! If you are currently pregnant or your little babe is under a month old all you do is post an Instagram with the caption and hashtag “HEY @littlepoppyco, IT’S A GIRL!!! #littlepoppycobowsformybabe” After you post visit littlepoppyco.com/newmoms and it will guide you through the next steps of getting your bows. Super, super easy! We want to make your special day stress free and make sure you have some stylish bows to welcome your babe with! Let me know if you sign up!  We just got our first months shipment of bows and they are adorable!
    9. Kickee Pants:    These are the cutest and most comfortable newborn baby onsies!  They bottoms have snaps and adorable designs on the bottoms. Check them out!  Lots of colors for girls and boys!
    10. Loved Baby Onsies:   These are my favorite baby jammies and onsies ever!  Soft material and they really do fit newborn babies. Unlike most onsies that are huge on newborns!  I would buy several to stock up!
    11. Cloth Diapers:  I have been wanting to do a whole post on cloth diapers.  They really are great and so easy to use . but , for now I will just post one of my favorite all in one cloth diapers that is a great one to get started with if you are interested in trying out cloth diapering on your newborn.

Atlanta Family Photographer | Favorite Fall Cardigans for Family Photos

Best Fall Bralettes and Cardigans!

This look is so great for those in between fall days that we have here in Atlanta! This cardigan  is one of my favorites! Thinking about buying this sweater in iced mocha!  I love the knit on this one.  This is the bralette I always wear and love! The easiest looks for fall if you love to layer for cool mornings and warmer afternoons is a light weight cardigan layered over a cami.  Bralettes are amazing for this too!  So much cooler than layering over a tank top and prettier as well:)  I love the lace ones like these.  Coffee is one of my favorite things to go grab. Unsweetened almond milk, and sugar free raspberry is my go to latte choice. Since, I am gluten and dairy free this is one of the treats I can have!

Anyone else gluten and dairy free? I have been gluten and dairy free since my first baby was born. I had horrible stomach, digestion issues and get these rashes that apparently are a sign of Celiac Disease. Many Doctors aren’t familiar with the rash or haven’t actually seen it before, so it gets misdiagnosed many times. I was told it was adult acne and yeast before the correct diagnosis was made. Anyway, back to my original post:) I definitely got off on a tangent! These outfits are perfect transition into fall looks and the cardigans are light enough to wear now! And, shoes, we can’t forget shoes! I love a great pair of shoes. They can make the whole outfit. Go grab these leopard boots and flats now! They are the hottest style for fall. And, I can vouch for the comfort of these both.

This is my favorite fall lipstick color in flat out fabulous as well!  This is a great cool magenta hue.

These jeans are also so great!  The destroyed look without the skin showing beneath:)

Lifestyle Buford Georgia Newborn Photographer | Vintage Letter Boards

3 Fun and Unique Ways to use your Vintage Letter Board:

How fun are the letter letter boards that are so popular right now?!  I just bought this one for a great price!   It is 10×10 and comes with 326 letters.  As a mom, I can think of so many ways to use it.  For those of you that don’t know I am a homeschool mom of 4 little ones and a newborn photographer.  I am sharing 3 unique ways to use your letter board.  And I am sure there are so many more ideas that I have not thought of yet.  So be sure to share your ideas with me in the comments!

3 ways to use your letter board

  1.  Homeschooling:   I love this for my homeschool room!  I have 2 children that are learning to read and this is such a great manipulative for them.  My son also has dyslexia.  And, this gives him the visual and hands on interaction he needs.  My little girls is just learning the alphabet and she just has a great time playing with the letters and asking me ” What letter this, mama?”   LOL!
  2. Newborn Announcement:  I can’t wait to use this for my next fresh 48 newborn session!  How amazing is this when photographed next to the newborn baby with the baby’s birth weight, height, and name spelled out.  It looks great and adds a special touch to the newborn session.
  3. Daily Scripture and Encouragement:  This is great to put next to your coffee maker with a daily scripture verse.  Or, a sweet message to your husband.  My husband loves to read a message first thing in the morning that is just for him.  One way to remind him that you love him during those super busy days with a newborn baby!

So there you have it!  3 of my favorite ideas for using your letter board.  I hope you enjoyed this and at least found one new thing to use your letter board for:)

What to Wear for Family Photos | Atlanta Newborn Photographer

Atlanta Newborn Photographer

5 Tips on What to Wear For  Family and Newborn Photos:

Here are some of my favorite outfits for Family Photos.  I am also sharing 5 tips for choosing the best looks for your family.

  1.  Start with Mom:  This is the most valuable tip I can give!  It is always the hardest to choose your own outfit.  Am I right?!? So find something you love and feel comfortable and beautiful in.  Once mom’s outfit is chosen, the rest of the outfits can be coordinated with hers.  I would always suggest a flowing long dress, you can do a solid color or a pattern.  These dresses photograph beautifully and can be worn over and over again.  This dress & this dress would look gorgeous!  Also this dress is one of my FAVES!
  2.   Choose one Patterned outfit:  Choosing one person to wear a pattern and the rest of the family to wear solid colors is always a great idea.  For example, Mom would choose a beautiful floral dress and the kids would wear colors that coordinates with her outfit.  I love these outfits for newborns, babies, and children.  This is one of my favorites for baby girls and the knitted bottom is just gorgeous!
  3. Textures:  Textures and layers add so much interest to photos.  Add a scarf or a cardigan.  Layer a sweater over a button up long sleeve shirt for dad.
  4. Avoid logos or appliques:  I always suggest avoiding logos and appliques.  I know they are cute out and about. But, they are totally distracting in photographs. So leave the cute sweater with the adorable heart applique at home:)
  5. Make sure the outfits reflect you:  Lastly,  make sure you feel like yourself!  If you are wearing a dress and you feel completely weird in a dress then wear a pair of skinny jeans, great shoes, and and oversized sweater.  Also, make sure kids are not itchy or wearing clothes that are uncomfortable.  It will show it pictures.
