How to photograph the Details| Atlanta Wedding Photographer

Atlanta + Athens Wedding Photographer

I love photographing wedding and engagement rings. Really, I love all the details.  I think it is so meaningful to have a photograph of these things, because flowers fade and invitations are thrown away. But, a photograph of these wedding details lasts forever!  I have been having such a great times photographing weddings at locations like Chateau Elan in Braselton, Georgia and have two weddings I am looking forward to. One is at the Payne- Corley House in Duluth and Four Oaks Manor in Buford. So here is a little eye candy of one of my all time favorite ring shots.

  1.  Use a Macro Lens if you have one. I specifically use the Canon Macro 100mm 2.8.  I love this lens for detail wedding shots.  It is crisp and has just dreamy bokeh!
  2. Don’t be afraid to get in close.Wedding and engagement rings look great when the focus is on the ring and all the details have the focus.  The background fades into a beautiful bokeh with with macro lens.
  3.  Keep the background clean and simple.  This is when the bride’s wedding veil or a bridesmaid dress comes in very handy.  I love to style the wedding day details using something with a touch of the wedding day colors when photographing the details.
