” This is what it was like when Mommy was pregnant with you! See how much we loved you even before you were born!”

#1 Follow Your Photographer’s Wardrobe Recommendations-

I personally offer styling for all of my clients. What you wear makes a huge difference in the look and feel of your photos.  I have photographed many, many maternity sessions and know what looks good and what doesn’t. There is nothing more unflattering that wearing something that makes you feel huge and doesn’t define your beautiful pregnant belly well.    Make sure you and your Husband’s clothes coordinate, but don’t match.  You also want your clothing to make sense for the location where you are having your photography session.  For example, Husbands wouldn’t want to wear a suit if you are going to the fair in Atlanta.  All of the elements of design come together in clothing to develop a cohesive look.  When you are wearing something that makes you look beautiful you will feel that way too!

#2 Have your Hair and Makeup Professionally done-

Having your hair and makeup professionally done is something that not only makes you look your best, but is also a wonderful treat at this stage in your pregnancy. And, after your newborn arrives, who knows how long it will be before you have time to properly do your hair and apply makeup!!!  Professional makeup artists also know what makeup types photograph most beautifully and will stay put during our session together. There are many wonderful make-up and hairstylist in the Atlanta area.  I personally work with several and can offer give you a referral for a stylist that can meet you at your home or on location.

#3 32-36 Weeks is the Best time for Maternity Photography-

While you might think earlier is better it really is best to wait for your photography session until you have a full belly.  All Moms experience that stage where you don’t look like your normal size, but you don’t look pregnant yet either. Personally, I hate that stage and can’t wait till I actually have that cute pregnant belly really showing!  And, you also don’t want to wait too long. Swelling starts to occur toward the end of pregnancy and moving becomes increasingly difficult. And, most important is that you might deliver early and miss the chance to capture how it feels to carry this wonderful blessing of a baby! And, once you deliver you can never photograph your belly again to show that tiny newborn one day.

I can’t wait to show my children ” This is what it was like when Mommy was pregnant with you! See how much we loved you even before you were born!”
